The Neumann's Year in Review 2009
| Roger has been home from Iraq for over a year now. The kids and I are blessed to have him home as much as he is. The Pentagon is a High Maintenance Mistress, and we are treating her with kid gloves. Roger enjoys his work there, but still is very discouraged by the commute and never seeing the sun. So I bought him a "Happy Light". It is a light that mimics natural sunlight...People at the office love having the Sun inside the Pentagon's hollow halls. |

He did get his race bike running again. Hallelujah! He has been working on it for about six months and got it running down the street a in November. He is so excited because he has rebuilt "Frankenbike" himself. Our dear friend Don helps when they come up to visit. Roger is hoping to have it on the track again someday.

| Tyler has had a stellar
year. The move to Manassas Christian Academy last year was the
best decision we ever made. He cruised through Kindergarten
and is now a excited First Grader. He has made some amazing
friends. We are enjoying the personalities of each one. And
yes, small children each have more than one personality...they are
Sibils...and this keeps me on my toes. Little Eric lives next door and is just excited about everything. He loves to come over and play the Wii with Tyler and Sophia. They three have made up their own "Mario People Game" when we have decided they need to get fresh air. It is awesome, Sophia even gets to play as the princess and loves to be a rolling tortillini! Big Eric and Jenna come to play on the weekends. Their grandparents, Nick and Rita, live across the street and we do enjoy their company. Eric is, hands down, the most polite boy we have ever met. He is gracious and fun and just loves to play warrior of the street. Jenna is sweet and her and Sophia have become fast friends. They both love animals and coloring so they entertain themselves for hours. Zach and Brady are bothers, Zach is in Tyler's grade at school. They are so much fun. Zach and Tyler love to play video games together and Brady is awesome at animal sounds! I haven't heard a moo done better, except by a real cow! |
| Sophia has turned into an
amazing little girl, not that she wasn't superb before! She loves
her stuffed animals, all 105 of them, and has named everyone. It
is amazing because when mommy tries to sneak any out of the house, she
realizes they are gone and gets mad. So they have to make a triumphant
return! She is at Grace Children's Learning Center and is thriving there. Her teachers, Mrs. Wilmer and Ms Kellie are awesome and Sophia is learning new concepts daily. Her ability to pull to separate yet relatable ideas together is scary! (ok it is REALLY COOL!) Her friends are adorable and mostly boys, must remember to invest in Louisville Sluggers. They play adventure games where they create animal persona's and act out adventures. It is wonderful to watch and gut tickling to hear! Me? Hmmm, I didn't have a great start to the year...lots of medical crap that lasted through the summer. Knees are getting older even though I don't want to. Praying that someone will invent a pill that will make my knees 19 again. I don't want to relive that age, but would love to have the body then with the mind now! I started work for a small Real Estate Company in October and really am enjoying it. My boss is Babak, he is originally from Iran, and lived in Austria for many years as a boy. It is an easy-going office, perfect for where we are right now. I have my afternoons off to play with the kids. We are not planning much for the upcoming year. Roger will be deploying in June, so currently we are trying to spend as much time together as a family as we can. With our Pentagon mistriss constantly calling, this isn't as much as we would like. BUT, weekends are filled with games, food and motorcycle repair. All in all; something for everyone and a great time all around. As I wrap this up I think of all the fantastic parts of our lives. We are truly blessed to have all of you touch our lives as you have. Thank you for being the amazing people you are! Merry Christmas Happy Hanauka Have a Blessed New Year!
